Clean Green: Favorite Eco Cleaners

As the weather (finally!) lightens up and we open our rusty windows, it’s time to sweep under the carpets and blow dust from the deepest corners of our closets. But did you know that the toxic chemicals in cleaning products have been directly linked to rising rates of cancer and asthma? Even worse, long after the products have been flushed or rinsed away, they have disastrous long-term effects on the water supply and ecosystem. Luckily, people were cleaning long before Isopropyl Alcohol and Butoxyethanol (both ingredients of Windex) even existed, and there are plenty of eco alternatives. Below, Greg Macchia, founder of Boulder-based eco cleaning company Clean Conscience, Inc., shares his favorite products to get the job done without sacrificing your health and the environment:
